Mossman

Mossman has a population of 1800 and is located 75km North of Cairns and a short 20km scenic drive from Port Douglas.

Mossman remains the seat of local government and the hub of the Douglas Shire sugar industry. Set amidst the splendour of green cane fields and nestled in the Mossman Valley, with the twin peaks of Mount Demi offering a spectacular backdrop, this picturesque township has managed to maintain its distinctive rural feel.

Mossman has a full range of services available: taxis, mechanical repairs, grocery stores, doctors, dentists, photo developing, chemist, tourist information, petrol stations, a newsagency, banks and a post office all conveniently located within walking distance.
